Dark yet cute game
The Supper introduces you to Ms. Appleton, an old lady who was always a wellspring of kindness. That’s until The Voice started talking to her. It won’t leave her alone and commands her to serve special meals to her customers. First, you’ll need to find inspiration for your recipe in the kitchens or down the docks. Then, you’ll need to find the ingredients by solving puzzles and get started with the cooking. Of course, don’t forget to add the special sauce before serving.
The Supper is a 2D pixelated-style point-and-click game. Its art style is like a horror take on the animated film Spirited Away. It is harmonic and creates a creepy atmosphere, yet it still manages to have a welcoming warmth. The puzzles aren’t that all challenging compared to classic adventure games. They are also strictly linear.
The gameplay is under 30 minutes, which is understandable given that it is free. The game is a standard point-and-click. Your inventory will be limited, and not everything is given to you at once. You will also interact with a couple of things one at a time, and more puzzles are unlocked as you go. All in all, it is a dark yet cute game worthy of your time.
